Diamond began his music industry career by heading up MRC Music (the publishing arm of Mercury Records). He followed up with Steam's #1 "Na, Na, Hey, Hey" (on which he is also was one of the background singers) and then the Supremes' and Temptations' smash duo of "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me." During this period he worked very closely with songwriters: James Taylor, Laura Nyro, Harry Nilson, Van Morrison, The Bee Gees, Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow, and David Bowie

Joel was born and grew up in Passaic, NJ, and graduated from Rider University earning a BA Degree in business and psychology.

From NY, Joel Diamond found himself living in California having bought his very first home in Tarzana and thereafter, selling it to Oscar winner and platinum recording artist Jamie Foxx, with whom he still maintains a friendship with.

Joel managed a heavy weight fighter named Rocky Pepeli for over a year who actually fought Larry Holmes at one point.

Joel was Vice President of Disney’s Boston International Records along with President and owner, Maurice Starr, who created New Kids On The Block
